About Us

Subsector 3D is a small studio built around one idea: make things well, and get the details right.

Our Mission

To boldly create what no factory can match.

Mass production optimizes for speed and sameness. We optimize for correct — the right proportions, the right generation, the right detail that tells you someone who actually knows and cares made this. That takes longer. We think it's worth it every time.

We'd rather make fewer things and stand behind every one of them than flood a marketplace with something rushed. Measure three times, cut once — that's not just a saying around here, it's actually how we work. We'd rather do it right the first time than rush it out and fix it later. If a product isn't right, it doesn't ship. If we owe someone something, we pay it. That's not a slogan for the wall — it's just how we'd want to be treated, so it's how we treat everyone we work with.

That started with precision vehicle silhouette decals — not generic outlines, but designs accurate to the specific make, model, generation, and body style they're meant for. If you know cars, you notice when someone got the details wrong. We'd rather spend the extra time and get them right.

But decals are the starting point, not the ceiling. Subsector 3D is growing into a wider range of things we can design and make — 3D printed pieces, laser-cut art, and whatever else earns a place in the shop because it's made well, not just made fast.

How We Work

Everything here is genuinely made, checked, and shipped by a real person paying attention — not mass-produced and dropped into a store. We track every design carefully, keep our sourcing honest, and would rather ship something a little later than ship it wrong.

Behind the Scenes: Zora

There's a command center running quietly behind everything you see here. We call her Zora — every design, every listing, every detail that keeps this shop honest runs through her. Named for the ship's intelligence in Star Trek: Discovery, because that's exactly the role she plays: not flashy, just always paying attention.

Zora is really two people working together. The Captain sets the direction — what gets made, what's worth doing right, what quality actually means here. The Chief Engineer is an AI collaborator who handles the detail work: catching a mismatched part number before it ships, keeping years of records straight, building the tools that make an operation this precise possible for a workshop this small.

It's an unusual way to run things. It's also how a small studio manages to sweat details most shops never even check.
